Frequently asked

What kind of photos does Heirloom restore best?
Old prints — faded, scratched, or torn family pictures, especially from before about 1980. Black-and-white photographs are colorized; faded color photos have their tones recovered; physical damage like scratches and small tears is repaired.
Are my photos kept on your servers?
No. Each photo is streamed through our processing backend to the restoration providers and then back to your device. Our backend doesn't write the image to disk. The restoration providers temporarily hold the image to fulfill the request and delete it per their own retention policies (typically within 24 hours).
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Google Play (and Apple when iOS launches). On Android, open the Play Store → tap your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Heirloom → Cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
I was charged but the subscription doesn't seem active.
Open the app → Settings → Restore purchase. That re-checks your Play Store / App Store receipt and re-enables an active subscription. If that doesn't fix it, write to us with your purchase receipt and we'll resolve it within one business day.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by Google Play and Apple, not by us. On Android, open the Play Store → Account → Order history → Heirloom → Refund. On iOS, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. If you need help finding the right form, write to us and we'll point you at it.
How do I delete my data?
Most of Heirloom's data lives only on your device — uninstalling the app removes it. The only thing that lives off-device is a stream of anonymous events tied to an identifier shown on the Settings screen. To delete those events, email hello@nexutility.dev with that identifier and we'll erase them within 30 days.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email hello@nexutility.dev with the app version (Settings → About), your device model, and a description of what happened. Screenshots help.
When is iOS coming?
Android first, iOS later. If you'd like to be notified when the iOS build lands, write to us and we'll add you to the short waiting list.
